Whether you are a new or a regular visitor to our site, we hope you will enjoy reading about what has been happening on the island of Kefalonia. As you browse through the pages of our website, you will see that there is not only a news summary of what has recently been happening on Kefalonia, you will also find information relating to events that took place on the island way back in time, which we hope you will find as fascinating as we do.
On days when certain events take place on Kefalonia, the name of the event or celebration will appear next to the date, as will other information that you may find interesting. On the home page is a map of Kefalonia, place your curser on the map for a pictorial tour.
According to the Greek Orthodox tradition, nearly every day of the year is dedicated to a Christian saint or Martyr. When someone is named after one of those saints, that day becomes their "name-day" and, traditionally, is celebrated. Unfortunately, the list of names are far too long to include but, todays name-day is highlightd below. To see the full list of name-days click on the link
