Petani Beach

Crystal Clear Blue Waters

Petani is a natural horseshoe shaped bay which lies on the north coast of Paliki, it is about 20 minutes drive from Lixouri and about one hour from Agia Efimia and 20 km west of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. The view from the top of the road looking over the beach is breathtaking. There is a steep winding cliff top road, which allows you to see the beach in all its glory, as you carefully maneuver your way round the hair pin bends, on your way down to the beach.

The beach is wide with a mixture of hard sand and pebbles and beautifully kept, the crystal clear blue waters of the bay are warm. A life guard tower is situated on the sands, and the beach has the coveted blue-flag. Situated on the beach are two Tavernas, which have comprehensive menus to suit all tastes, with ample room for parking.

Although slightly smaller, the beach looks very much like Myrtos beach from a distance but, because of its location it is not widely used. The weather can be unpredictable, especially in July and August when it can get quite windy making sea a little rough at times but, don’t let this put you off.
